Poetry: Did our love exist?

by Karla Parker

Created on: November 16, 2010

At one point in time, I’m sure it did,

But as I got older, that love began to slide

Instead of hearing “I love you” everyday,

Those words turn into “You’re lazy, get out of my house!”

Despite the things that I’ve done, I wonder what’s my purpose in life

Because our “love” isn’t love, it’s the love that was built on strife
