A Graveyard
Shadows screaming toward the clouds
Blissfully unaware of reverence
Bestowed upon their shells
The joy of their release
Overwhelms all that was before
Stoic black ceremony solemn
Practiced poignancy to mark a life
Farewells made but not truly felt
Connections stretched but not broken
A thread always remains
The ghosts of the newly departed absent
Do the well-tended rise?
A neglected and forlorn sepulcher
Could be a barrier to hold them low
But they are never there
What dims the glow of a newly formed angel?
What heavy earth-bound regrets
Serve as a purgatory of the lost?
Invisible walls of a secret realm
Made stronger by stubborn human pride

Pains fire has now lost its burn.
He is now clear of mind.
