A Guide to Art Museums in the USA

A question asked by all as to what is Art - whether Art can be defined is a matter of controversy. There are varied definitions to the meaning of Art. According to Wikipedia Online Encyclopedia – "Art is the product or process of deliberately arranging symbolic elements in a way that influences and affects the senses, emotions, and/ or intellect. It encompasses a diverse range of human activities, creations, and modes of expression." (

There are no definite limits to what can or cannot be called art; in the end it is up to the audience to define art by their own emotions.  Having a list of art terms definitions can help you have a greater appreciation for artists and their work as you visit an art museum.
