The Best Tasting Meal Replacement Bar

I have tried many types of meal bars throughout the years, searching for the sweet sweet taste, ‘ooh so bad but so good’ replacement for my chocolate/candy fix. I’ve tasted the ones that make you feel like you have a mouth full of cardboard.. yeuck!  I’ve tried the ones with the fillings and I’ve tried the milk chocolate, but none have come close to my very very favorite!

My local market carries a decadent Dark Cholocate with Almonds Fiber Bar that is to die for!  But eaters beware as it states on the package. If you consume more than one I don’t want you sharing my cubicle with me!

You see I keep a box of ‘goodies’ for sale at my desk at work. Since our cafeteria closed down I thought it would be nice for my co-workers to be able to buy a few chips, gum or maybe a fiber bar! Right away it was all a hit. Most came for the chips and I kept a variety.. but then I noticed they started asking about the bars. I told them they were part of my diet since I have Diverticulosis and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I also told them the reason I like them so much is that I can get my chocolate fix along with my fiber all in one. Laugingly I would warn them not to eat more than one bar in a day as it states on the package.. WARNING.. WARNING..

Funny thing is how people are just like little kids. They just can’t keep their hands out of the cookie jar when they’ve been warned not to get into it. And so it happened.. and 3 times at that! First it was my cubby buddy who ate the dreadful ‘2nd’ bar.. he told me about it the next day saying, “You’re lucky you weren’t in this cubby after 4 yesterday!” (I get off at 4, he gets off at 5). Well, what happened I asked? He laughed and said his tummy just rumbled and grumbled all afternoon until midnight.. with lots and lots of gas! His wife wasn't so happy. Whew! He was right, I was so glad I had already left for the day. Laughingly I told him he had been warned.. and then, it happened again.

She was warned about the ‘strength’ of those fiber bars but like I said, those bars are mighty tasty! Some folks like the peanut butter with chocolate flavor. Some like the plain chocolate and some agree with me about the dark chocolate with almonds. I think my friend just couldn’t get enough of that chocolate/almond crunchy flavor! They are  delicious.. and with the same results.. grumble, grumble, churn, churn.. uh oh!

Now you would think that people would hear me laugh as I warn everyone that buys a bar, but oh no! Because it happened again just last week. My new cubby buddy works later than I, and she told me something funny just the other day.. something about that second ‘fiber bar’. They are so very good for you.. but heed the warning I give you today and read the label on the package! Eat only one! Or you might be alone in your cubby for a very long time.
