On thought manifestation

Manifesting ones desires through thought is not as easy as it sounds. First of all, it feels more like magic than it does about actual results. After reading many books on the subject, I can only determine that books on manifestation are actually selling hope rather than results.

Now, there is nothing wrong with hope when that hope is kept in balance. But, too much hope and not enough results can certainly be frustrating. The writers of these books give their thoughts about how to manifest or bring about anything from being the perfect weight to having a huge amount of money magically appear just via thought process alone. Or, they may say that once a desire is put forward, that it is just a matter of time before the thought results in the desired outcome. None of the books or methods that I have perused ever give any techniques or applications for manifesting ones desires. If they do, those techniques are so abstract that they do not have any effect in my life.

If manifesting is to be a useful tool, there should be actual applications that would take one straight to the goal. A good example would be to visualize the pencil on my desk lifting one foot off the desk and hovering in space for 30 seconds before dropping back to the desk. I have tried this "technique" many times with no results. If a manifestation this simple can not be brought about and none of the books out there can show how to do this; and if there is no proof or viable testimonies on an application such as this, then where does this leave the reader or the student who is trying to master this ability?

Also, how can writers or teachers of manifestation morally support such a "craft" in the face of the truth? Is it because they are just doing it in the name of profit, or do they actually feel that manifestation does bring about results? Perhaps these writers feel so strongly about their "truth" that it exists in their minds only and that that is enough. And, why do I keep studying the subject myself? I suppose that I still surmise that there is undiscovered validity to the whole subject, and that I still keep buying their books; even if these books are presently selling hope.

There is a process that does seem to work for me in the long run. Generally, I am in good health. I have a vibrant life and I look forward to almost everything that happens in my life. But, I would concur that this resulting life has not come about due to visualization or manifestation. It has come about as a result of setting certain goals and following through.
