There are a lot of strange correlations that may be factors in sexuality. Finger length ratios, older brother theory, womb condition, left handedness, hypothalamus size, family size, spatial skill abilities, voice pitch, and a whole bunch of ways to tell if you are gay. But most importantly is asking your self who are you sexually and emotionally attracted to?
Sometimes growing up this is a tough question to ask yourself when you may feel pressured by society to answer you are attracted to a certain gender when in truth you may not be created that way. Many times homosexuals are afraid to ask themselves who they are attracted to because they are afraid they may be attracted to the same sex. If this is so ask yourself why you are afraid.
Social stigma, religion, the chance of being rejected, and many more reasons may come up. But just because this stigma and confusion exists doesn't change who you may or may not be attracted to. If you are emotionally and physically attracted to the same sex, you are most likely a homosexual.
However, many teenagers will go through periods in which they experiment with both sexes but not out of confusion but out of curiosity. Just because a person has sexual contact with someone of the same sex does not mean one is gay. All it means is that you had a sexual encounter with the same sex. This article is not encouraging nor discouraging such behaviors.
If there is a prolonged sexual preference towards the same sex physically and the same sex continues to be both physically and emotionally attractive, than you may consider accepting the idea that you are gay.
Being a attracted to the same sex is not a bad thing. And it is not something that can be chosen. There are many factors that determine whether a person becomes a homosexual or not. These factors include both social and biological influences on a person. It is not a matter of nature verses nurture but more of the new accepted idea in psychology that nature and nurture work along side each other.
There are many ways to determine if you are gay. But the primary factor is whether or not you are attracted to the same sex or the opposite sex for a prolonged period of time. Either way you are not a bad member of society based on sexuality.
