How grief is felt physically as well as mentally

Why is it that a real heart-ache is felt so physically within the region of our heart itself ? When grief stricken, it feels like a dagger has been plunged into our heart, taking a direct physiological hit.

Emotion is a powerful proclamation of how grief can affect us with a pain which bodily declares there is nothing which can repair it. The reason for calling a heart-ache, a broken heart. Any who do not understand the full implications of this, think the physiological source of the pain is not real.

It stems from the actual name of Psycalgia - and though seen as mental stress - it most definably is as grievous as any other source of pain. Medications are sometimes used as if it were only chronic pain, or with anti-depressants. Some believe it is due to suppression of it's origin. Facts are, whatever opinions are formed, the pain is genuine.

When it comes to an expressive heart-ache, medics do not take one's inner body - the soul - into consideration. Soul-mates have been known to die of such grief and a broken heart, within days or weeks of losing one or the other through death. Such an organic phenomenon, can verify the realness of a physical painfulness.

Heart failure due to this, caused by the grieving heart which aches, must be considered physiological. A life science, affecting ones being. A deep-seated phenomenon we want to ignore goes hand in glove with the body, called the soul.

Yet, when it comes to death, the soul - or spirit - is remembered for who they were, regardless of whether it is a physician at the funeral of a loved one. Why cannot this be considered equally when it comes to that pain felt physically, in the seat of the heart, where it aches so badly in utter grief?

Why do folk die of broken hearts if it is only all in the mind? Where medications can only numb the mental aspect of the psyche or body, but not touch the soul itself. Will it only be when such things co-joined in life, are respected as twin aspects, as equally as to breath takes two motions - one in and one out - to complete the breath of life? Just as in turn that same breath, oxygenates our blood, connected to the heart, as much as the twin lungs.

Variations of mental health affect the body, and are treated with psychotic drugs. But when the heart aches with a permanent pain, it should not be treated as chronic suppressed stress. Suppressed stress could become Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and may have nothing to do with a heart-ache. It is not that the mind is detached from the body, but not everything stressful is psychotic.

It is the heart which suffers the pain of the conjoined embodiment of the person's soul, stabbing at the heart strings which creates the stressful situation blamed as mental. Just as tissue can be scarred, so also can the heart, when this persistent hurting is too deep, where nothing can repair it.

This, is the physiological aspect of a heart-ache due to severe grieving. It wears down the person whose heart it is, as equally as one can go from good to ill health. When this is a reputable argument of what is all in the mind, as against in the depths of what really makes a heart tick, we will have become more enlightened to a soul who aches within one's heart.

That, is individual care, and not mass processing of stressful medications which sometimes only add to one's suffering, physically speaking.
