Poetry: Red eyes

by Scribble66

Created on: November 09, 2010

See the hurt within my eyes

Glows the red of pain and strife,

The cross I wear around my neck

Wards nothing from me in this life.

Lips of red attract a poison

From a chalice I sip blood,

Open wounds that bleed within

Too many scars misunderstood.

Blame to you is but a virtue

One that soley bares my name,

Blamed for almost everything

Time and time and time again.

Cursed am I forever knowing

Anything else but what I see,

Loneliness is not my choosing

But something you inflict on me.

As my colour drains to white

From troubled days and sleepless nights,

Eyes of red still pierce the dark

And silent lips of red embark,

In sipping blood so bitter sweet

From open scars, forever weep,

The bloody taste upon my tongue

Quenches nothing, just prolongs,

This nightmare that I'm living.
