A shallow mind is merely a blank canvas awaiting a masterpiece.
The wise know that embracing life in its entirety is key to personal fulfillment and well-being. Greed begets more greed because you can’t gain anything with a selfish attitude.
The more you give, the more you get back, it’s a simple rule that exists in most religions and most importantly, is a universal law.
Sometimes we have encounters that leave us wondering, why are some people so shallow? It can be frustrating and we are tempted to lash out at them, but its better to understand why they are shallow, and even help them broaden their horizons.
Fear of the unknown can lead to prejudices, unfair judgments and shallow minds. It's easier for some people to condemn something that they are not familiar with than to explore it. Many people were raised with ideas and truths that don’t work, but continue to swear by them because they don’t feel comfortable seeking their own truths.
Life is limitless and brimming with possibilities, in fact, the only limits are those we ourselves set. Shallow-minded people are missing out on so many fantastic experiences because they are afraid to step outside of their comfort zone. Don’t get angry with someone who is shallow-minded, but instead try to pull them out of their all-about-me bubble. At first, they will react in similar fashion to a cat in a bath, but after they feel more comfortable with new things they will be more receptive.
It’s tragic to watch a shallow-minded person clutch their material possessions while real love slips away. Sparkles and baubles cannot bring you chicken soup when you don’t feel good. A friend can. Success is measured not by the amount of crap you obtain in your life, but by the amount of smiles you put on other’s lips.
Shallow-minded people will never know true wealth, or success, despite their net worth. True wealth is a package of good health, love, friendship, joy, and material things. To achieve good health, an open mind is required. Positive thoughts create positive emotions and good health follows. The same applies to love, friendship and joy. Material things come and go and should be held loosely. If you are aligned with a positive attitude, what you need and want will find its way to you.
Sometimes shallow-minded people can’t be enlightened. They were born with a mirror in their hands and rarely look past it. Don’t take it personally. We all have a place in the world. Some of us were meant to dazzle NASA, while others were meant to sew. Some people drive for a living, some star in block-buster films. No destiny is more important than the next, perhaps shallow-minded people are here to remind us to look to the stars.
