What meaningful gift can you give your boyfriend that will be cherished forever?  There are tons of things you could get him that he will be happy to receive.  Yet, perhaps you want to look beyond just mere satisfaction, and you hope to really make a huge impression. To do so is much more special, but not too difficult. It can be fun, creative, funny, or seriously romantic.

The trick if that you must add a personal touch to whatever gift you choose.  That is, if you give some electronic device, be sure to type in a very personal and meaningful message upon it, or download a photo of the two of you together.  How you wrap, or present it, can also make the gift more personalized, so if it is an electronic gift wrap it in magazine or paper ads for similar gadgets you know he has been longing for openly.  If you know he is crazy for one musical artist, include that.  What we wish to achieve with meaningful gift giving is to say:  "I was thinking and considering you, and only you: your wishes, your tastes, your thoughts, and your sense of style, humor, interests and more.”  A truly effective gift covers all of these characteristics and shows considerable thought on your part.

It is said that a present is called a present because we are presenting a part of ourselves.  A gift, on the other hand is all about the recipient.  Presents are great, we give present to show we want to share a part of ourselves, but gifts are even more meaningful. They speak to what we love about another, and what we cherish about his personality, particularly.

More ideas beyond the average are plentiful.  If you know he has had his eye on something particularly dear for his wardrobe, act upon your inside information.  If you know he has spoken about an experience he has always wanted to do, say, going for a boat ride, or a flying lesson, indulge this if it is possible.  If you think his “dream” activity is beyond your budget, think in terms of a down payment toward something very special, and write up a card, or placard describing the activity, and include ads or drawings, and related wrapping, if you can.

What about a wonderful dinner, picnic, or once in lifetime date?  You can put together several elements.  If you know he wants to see a particular show or concert, wrap up tickets, ads, maybe a key wardrobe piece, and include that piece in our presentation. Put together a picnic basket with wine, cheese, breads and/or snacks you know he will love and include a description by picture of just what you most thought he had in mind as a perfect spend the afternoon here, type of location.

Any activity you can both do together over a period of hours will be very remarkable, especially if you are mindful of setting, nature’s beauty, elements of comfort and thoughtfulness.

The most meaningful gifts we can give always include first the element of thinking specifically of the person we are gifting, and then using creativity, variety, and as many elements as you can pull together to describe your interest in pleasing your boyfriend, husband, or significant other.  Have fun with it, if you cannot draw so well, for example, be willing to generate some laughter, or be willing to present with a song, a poem, or a really creative “follow the clues,” sort of interactive treasure hunt game.

Adding any or all of your creative elements will make your gift one that is very special and will very likely please and delight the recipient for years to come. It is more than just a gift; it represents your willingness to go all out in showing how much you really care.
