Belonging
What does it mean to truly belong?
It's not just about being around
Or having someone to laugh with
Just because you have a person that calls you friend
Does it mean that you truly belong?
When you look at your own life
What do you see?
When everything is stripped bare
And when things reach its gritty peak
Who will stick by your side
And who already have people to stand next to?
When family becomes the other
And you become an orphan with parents
Who is there to be your family?
How can you call someone family
When the way they see you
Is nothing but a complimentary friend?
In the end, what role do you play?
Are you the lead, or the supporting role?
When people get to know you
Could you just be the starting block or a parachute?
When the main character in your own story isn't you
Is there something wrong?
When your life shows this pattern
What can you do but to accept your inferiority?
Is it even worth trying to transcend?
And in this state of being this insignificant being
Is it worth claiming this to be your home?
Is this where I truly belong?

It cannot be summarized without being mistaken
