Hosting a Christmas party can be loads of fun if you have the right party gear and decorations. Remember, when you throw a party the top priority is having a good time, so start things off right with an adequate amount of Christmas decorations and loads of decorations, loads of Christmas lights and fun activities!
If you’re throwing an adult Christmas party decide ahead of time what food you want to offer your guests. You can have it catered to save yourself some time or you can ask everyone to bring a dish and go potluck!
Make sure your home is transformed into a winter wonderland, Santa’s toy factory, a Christmas store, or something similar. When you go to a holiday party you expect to be surrounded by holiday cheer and it is always a great way to get into the holiday spirit.
Even though you’re planning an adult party, you can’t go wrong with fun and silly games like pin the beard on the Santa, Christmas cookie decorating contest, Secret Santa, Dirty Santa, or Name That Tune with Christmas carols. Even adults like to have fun and feel like a kid again. Offer a prize to the game winners, something like a $10 gift card to Starbucks or an Amazon.com Gift Card will be a big hit among your friends. (Here’s a quick tip: eBillme has amazing deals on e-Gift Cards for the Holidays, like save $15 on a $100 Amazon.com Gift Card. Order now, this is a limited time offer.)
You might want to even throw in a fun theme like Tacky Christmas Sweater and ask everyone to wear the tackiest Christmas sweater they can find. It’s a way to let all your guests get a feel for what kind of party you’re throwing and they can know how casual or not casual your event will be.
If most of your friends have young kids, instead of asking your friends not to bring them, make the party kid-friendly! Bring out some Christmas coloring books. Set up a small table with coloring books, crayons, markers, and stickers where the kids can sit and color so the adults can mingle and still keep an eye on their children.
And, remember to have your Christmas music playing! Music sets the tone for the party. Slow Christmas carols invite a more intimate atmosphere while faster, upbeat songs like 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer' or 'Here Comes Santa Claus' are more fun and allow the kids to join in the singing.
Enjoy planning your Christmas party, and even more, enjoy the time you spend with your family and friends this Holiday season.
