CHRISTIAN LIVING REMINDS US WHY WE NEED GOD

Due to faith, Christians strive to live the best lives they can based on Biblical principles. The Bible gives many insights into how a Christian should live his or her life, but it's impossible to live a completely blameless and sinless life. However, this is one of the central ideas behind Christianity.

No one can live a blameless, sinless, perfect life, which is why humanity needed a savior.

It says in Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God," (NIV). That means no one is capable of living a sinless life and therefore no one can achieve salvation on their own. Because of this God sent his son Jesus to live a perfect life and die for us as a sacrifice of atonement.

After Christ's sacrifice we no longer are held to the standard of the law, but by the standard of faith, which makes it possible for anyone to be seen as righteous in God's eyes. It says in Romans 4:5 "However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited to him as righteousness."

However, this doesn't mean Christian's aren't supposed to try and live sinless, blameless, and perfect lives, and it doesn't mean Christian's can ignore God's law. Sin always angers and saddens God. Additionally, knowing the law makes everyone aware of their sin so they can repent of it as it says in Romans 7:7 "What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law."

All of this leads to one thing; trying to live Christian lives, and failing, reminds everyone why they need a savior.

Knowing the law makes someone aware of sin, the need to repent, and the realization that living a blameless life is impossible. Only one conclusion can be met with constant failure; a savior is needed. Understanding that Christian living is meant to be hard helps everyone endure it because we can rejoice in the fact that our hardships only strengthen our faith and our relationships with God, and that's a very encouraging thought.
