Pure accounts are mainly created for player killing (pking). These accounts are unique because of their low defence levels and high combat levels. A typical pure usually has level one defence, and much higher Ranged, Strength, Magic, and Attack levels, this however depends on the pures' combat level. There are also different variations of normal pure accounts; these pures called zerkers, initiate, or barrows pures, have higher defence levels then normal pures, making them more useful at higher combat levels.

The question still remains though. How are you supposed to kill players with these accounts? This depends on the type of pure you have. A range pure has high range levels and follows the normal defence level guidelines as other pures. To utilize range pures a minimum of level 50 range is required, as at level 50 range the magic short bow is available for use. This short bow is unique because it has a special attack that fires two arrows at once. When pking with it use rune arrows, this method also requires some timing so practice this in the duel arena a few times to get the feel of how to use it. The technique is quite simple; when you’re opponent has about a quarter to an eight of his life points left, simply click on the special attack bar and hope for a decent hit. The magic short bow’s special attack is inaccurate so don’t expect to get too many kills, instead, raise you’re range to level 61. At level 61 the rune cross bow and the dark bow are made available for use, both are very powerful but the ammo required for them is quite expensive. When pking use rune knives, make sure to keep some dragon arrows equipped in you’re ammo slot. Again, as soon as you’re opponent has less than a fourth of his or her life points, click on the dark bow and choose the special attack option. This special attack is much more power and much more accurate compared to the magic short bow special. Another strategy here is to use rune knives while keeping around five to ten dragon bolts (e) in your ammo slot. Then, when you’re opponent is less than one fourth of his or her life points, quickly switch to your rune crossbow and attack you’re opponent. The switch is near instant providing for a nearly double hit, if the dragon bolts’ special attack is activated a very high hit can be achieved.

While at low levels range pures are efficient, at higher levels they become very expensive and few kills are achieved. At this stage
