Use the Provided Layouts (For Beginners)

If it is your first time to use PowerPoint, you can actually use the provided layouts. These layouts will allow you to have a fixed layout in the first slide and if you want it to have the same design in the succeeding slides just duplicate the first slide. When it comes to designing the slide, the layouts will have a prepared design and different text boxes for you to customize.

When you are already familiar with the different features of PowerPoint, you can start enhancing your skill in designing. You can start by placing different variation of designs and transition. The design of the slide will allow you to make every slide decorative and the transition feature will create animation and movement of text and images. Using different types of transition will depend on what you are presenting. If you are going to present something exciting, you should use explosive or surprising transition.

Correct Usage of Fonts, Font Color and Font Size

Aside from the background design and transition, viewers of your presentation will also notice the fonts that you will use. If you are not contented with the default fonts provided, you can visit www.google.com and just search for free font download. This will direct you to a list of different kinds of fonts. And when it comes to font color and font size, just remember to use a font color that will blend to your background design. Regarding font sizes, it is more attractive and effective if you will use a larger font size for important details.

Most of the provided images in PowerPoint are surely over used by other PowerPoint users. So the best thing to do is to get your own images or wallpapers. You can download some by searching at www.google.com for free wallpaper download. Just take your time in choosing which images to use so that you will have a better result in the end.

Watch the Slide Show Preview Every 5 Slides Finished

In making a presentation, you would probably make 15 – 50 slides (depending on how long is your presentation). So if you want to enhance your presentation, you should watch the preview of your presentation every after you finish designing or encoding 5 slides. This will allow you to check if the design you made will blend in each slide and if the transition, background, font and images is just right for the theme you want. By doing this, you will have the chance to edit or change what you want to edit or change.
