Poetry: Dedicated to a friend

HER FRIENDSHIP HAS ME SPEECHLESS

I could see how you think that it’s easy for me; by the way I use my pen and words so eloquently.

Masterpieces weren’t made in a day you see, it took Da Vinci a while to make Mona Lisa smile.

You assume that it’s easy for me to express with at least a few words no less.

You wonder why it is I sit here speechless

I think of the times from way back. The good and bad, the ups and downs

Long School days, and weekend nights spent acting like clowns.

You are beautiful, funny intelligent. Finally some words come to mind

Yet these words don’t justly express what I feel inside, so I let nostalgia take me on another ride.

Growing up. Sharing fears and dreams. Getting into trouble. Learning from mistakes. Helping each other grow spiritually and mentally.

Those were the days.

THOSE ARE THE DAYS still.

Heavy in my mind are the words that I’m losing hope to find

I can’t find JUST THE RIGHT words to settle my mind

Then I realize the reason my tired mind can’t rest on one single thing.

Because your friendship to me well its EVERYTHING.

So I sit here.

Speechless
