Zealous tax collector, enriching his pockets
And those of Rome.
Careful to fulfill his obligations
Careful to learn and invest.
Hated by his countrymen,
Looked down upon for his stature as well.
Enduring ridicule,
Up the sycamore tree he climbed-
Salvation came to his house that day.

Kissing Bathsheba was unwise
Intercourse unwiser
Naked she was, not for him but for the sun.
God was not his advisor.
Did she
Bear unto me a fruitful knowledge;
In my heart deliver love and understanding.
Befitting a king, a preacher of the Word.
