While plain M&Ms are very good, with their creamy chocolate and colorful shells, I have to say that peanut M&Ms are even better.

Peanut M&Ms are unique among candies because the peanut is not just a part of the candy, it's central to the candy.  Except for the candy shell and the small layer of chocolate, the peanut carries the candy.  To pull this off, the peanut has to be of superior quality, and the peanuts in peanut M&Ms are.  They're big, crunchy, and flavorful.  They have just enough sweetness and just enough saltiness.  They're perfect!

George Washington Carver knew that the peanut is a very healthy food, and it is.  Among other things, peanuts contain Vitamin B, calcium, iron, and protein.  Peanuts also contain antioxidants, as many as blackberries or strawberries.  Peanuts provide monounsaturated fats, which lower cholesterol.  They're rich in fiber, and a hundred peanuts contain only about 550 calories.

But the main reason for eating peanut M&Ms is their delicious taste.  The peanut blends perfectly with the hint of semi-sweet chocolate and the crunchy, sugary shell.  Unlike the chocolate M&Ms, and other chocolate treats, which can be cloying after a while, you never get tired of them.  They keep their fresh, cheerful flavor through the whole pack.  And when you finish a pack of peanut M&Ms, you're genuinely sorry they're gone, and wish the company would make a bigger pack.

Peanut M&Ms are the perfect snack to take anywhere.  They can go in a purse or a pocket.  They're ideal for a walk in the woods, and also ideal to munch at the office.  If you're getting sleepy in the afternoon, have a pack of peanut M&Ms; the sugar, caffeine, and protein will combine to pep you up much better than a cup of coffee would.  If you leave most candies in a hot car, they'll melt and run like lava out of a volcano, and even chocolate M&Ms will get sticky.  But peanut M&Ms will come out of the hot car unscathed.

If you're in a hurry, you can slam down your peanut M&Ms in two or three bites, but be sure to chew them well and don't choke.  If, however, you have time to really enjoy them, you can eat them one at a time.  Ah, the sheer sumptuousness of it!  Each peanut M&M is like a little symphony of sweet and salty, orchestrated in perfect harmony.  Take the time to enjoy the cheerful colors of the shells, also, before you pop them into your mouth.

With regret you see that there are only two or three left.  Savor them to the fullest!

But fear not, because there are plenty more peanut M&Ms for sale, and you can not only enjoy them, you can have the pleasure of anticipating enjoying them as well!
