As a writer motivation is sometimes scarce. Setting goals for yourself in life and the things you do can go a long way toward keeping you motivated regardless of what you do. In fact goals can lead to more success than you ever imagined possible.
The goals themselves.
Whatever you want to achieve should be written down. The accomplishments should be realistic and manageable. Time frames should be had for each goal to allow you to meet them. Steps should be easy to follow through with. When you break the goals down into steps that you can visibly see progress on will keep you from becoming discouraged.
Time frame for goals.
Give yourself a time frame for the goals you set that can be either short or long term. The deadline for the goal will vary depending on the size of the goal. Breaking each goal down into steps will help you to achieve them.
Posting Goals
Post the goals that you have for yourself where you can easily see them so that you don’t forget them. Being able to see the goals you have will allow you to keep the motivation to meet them. Taking pictures or cutting them out of magazines to put up where you can see them will help you to remember them. If the goals that you set are work related post them and the pictures you took at your work station.
You can post the goals you set anywhere you’d like. The fridge, on the dash of your car or by your bed are all places that you’ll see them at least once a day. The more often you see your goals the more you’ll try to make them.
Income
Maybe you want an increase in your income. There are steps that you’ll have to take to accomplish these and they’re going to involve work. Setting goals based on the amount of work that you do will help you to achieve the goals. The amount of money that you want to earn each month, week or even each day being posted at your work station will help you to keep focus on the goals.
Motivation can be found in a number of places. Goals can help you to maintain your momentum even when you have no desire to work or do anything else. Sometimes taking a break to reevaluate the goals you have is an easy way to keep going.
