Early warnings signs are not just for earthquakes or floods. Even in employment, one must be vigilant to be able to detect signs of trouble in the horizon.

Before I begin, I would like to remind all my dear friends who work for bosses. Never think your job is forever secured. Even if you are a key personnel, you can still be out of the job, for whatever reasons possible.

This is how the stages of progression go before one is finally out of the job.

1. The boss begins to hint about the economic conditions internationally.

2. Next, he will mentioned how it is affecting our nation's economy and growth.

3. Subtley, he starts by hinting that the company has too many staff. Therefore, the company is losing a lot this way.

4. After that, he starts checking on my claims. He will query everyone of them even though he knows they are in the process of business dealings.

5. He will then set his blue eyed staff to monitor all your activities, on and off work hours. Their task is to find anything fault that will be used as evidences against you. He doesn't mind spending unwarranted money in this area.

6. He starts delaying your pay. He makes you feel desperate because you have overheads that cannot wait. They must be settled every month. He does not feel any sympathy nor remorse over such actions. Not that the company has no funds.

7. Then, all your petty cash claims never get paid. Reason is that the accountant is checking on them. That was five months ago. The accountant is still checking, probably in his sleep.

8. He will now get other senior staff to speak negative or complain about your inefficiency. Not that he has not any at all. They will zoom down to how most of your work ends up in problems. Gone is the time when the company was young and everyone was committed to work as a team and dedicated to every task in hand.

9. Now, it's getting more interesting. Suddenly, he starts giving all the responsibilities that are important to other staff. At his point, he hides a lot of information from you so that you are unable to function efficiently in your job or whatever is left.

10. Now, the climax. You shed some tears and write out your resignation letter which he is gleefully awaiting.

This is the true story of how it has happened to people I know. If we learn to look at it from a positive angle, we will succeed even better. I always remember this dear and clear in my heart : You cannot be rich working for people. Today, I am a netpreneur and infopreneur. One day, I hope to write and publish my own ebooks of the life experiences I have gone through. Never regret if you have to go, because it has to be for better reasons. You will now be your own boss.
