Finding the ideal Christmas gifts for your boyfriend can be a difficult task, but fear not we have a solution.

2011 has brought one of the worst recessions of our lifetimes. Quite frankly, were all pretty much "skint" as we say in Scotland, meaning anything we buy for Christmas has to be cost effective. Well, as well as us mere mortals being affected by the recession, so have multi-million pound businesses, thus meaning that their prices have been hacked because people simply cannot afford to pay full price for many goods. Ergo, good for us because we get cheaper gifts! Hooray! a silver lining in that grey dingy cloud!

Men are always so complicated to buy for, right ladies? We try every year to think of something different, a bit more unique but every year were greeted with the same reaction! GREAT! THANKS! (but he would secretly prefer something else) what that "else" is, we have no idea, so guys if you're reading this, a few ideas wouldn't go a miss!

Plus the other dilemma we have is how much do we spend? How many presents do we buy for him? because we have no idea how many he will buy us or spend on us! So here's my solutions..

Ask! simply ask him how much you should spend on each other and how many gifts he wants? 1 big one and 2 little ones? or 2 medium ones and 2 little ones? Chances are, he will have been wondering the exact same thing and will want to know too.

So now the confusion about expense is out of the way, the tricky part starts. What on earth should we buy for him? Remembering that anything you buy has a coincidence. If you buy him an Xbox he will stay on it all day, if you buy him a camera he will take pictures all day! Ahh! so decide which is the lesser of evils before you buy!

Anyways, here's some gift ideas:

Nintendo 3DS - Its a wee handheld console which is great for gaming. It has all the graphics and can play all their games on it, plus its in 3d! but the fact its a handheld console means its less addictive than the dreaded precious xbox! Woohoo! And also you will earn "cool girlfriend" points aswell. You can expect to pay round about £130 for this.

Blu Ray Player - Blu Ray players are all the rage at the moment, its expected that every household will have one by 2013. The great thing about Blu Rays is your boyfriend will think youre the bees knees for buying him it because every man wants one to marvel at the graphics and sound effects. You can buy one for as cheap as £40 nowadays! Also, theres only so much time
