Emotions well up inside me
An endless abyss of fear, forgetfulness and uninhibited sadness
Wanting to purge them out and
Turn on the flame of life inside
Only to find no energy
Nor desire
Hold on, I tell myself
It will be better soon
Sometimes even those words
Make me want to cry more
Take this emptiness away
Fill me with the joy of life
I see around me
Let me be the one to know
What living is all about.
