Many mothers know what it's like to struggle with maintaining a beauty regimen while trying to raise children, myself included. The kids require so much time and attention, there never seems to be enough time in any day to focus on yourself. I'm here to say that there is hope for you mommy; I have some tips to help you look put together and at your best when you are short on time.
Tip #1: Use a facial cleanser and scrub
This will have your face looking clean and all your pores clear in as little as 5-7 minutes. Follow up with a moisturizing lotion to have your face looking young and flawless for most of the day. Carry some cleansing wipes and extra lotion in your purse to freshen up later if needed.
Tip #2: Brush your teeth and use mouthwash
My grandmother once told me that a great smile would let the world know that your are happy to just be yourself everyday. Pearly whites aren't just for celebrities. Clean teeth and fresh breath let people know that you don't skimp on basic hygiene and a beautiful smile makes you feel beautiful. Always have breath freshening gum on you for those times after eating.
Tip #3: Show attention to your eyes and lips
Your lip gloss, mascara, and eyeshadow should become your best friends. Mascara and eyeshadow brighten up your eyes and make you look more alert. Lip gloss brings freshness and moisture to your lips and should complement your overall look. Done right, lip gloss should bring people's attention to your gorgeous pout and pretty smile.
Tip #4: Simple hairstyling
Pulling your hair up into a curly up-do slick ponytail does wonders for moms on the go. Don't always pull hair towards the top of the head; adjust it to the side or the nape to reduce strain on one area of the head. To keep hair looking fresh, be sure to shampoo and condition regularly and try a protein treatment every two weeks. If you're really pressed for time or you're feeling kind of lazy, invest in a wig. Wigs are very simple and quick and you have an instant style in a heartbeat.
Tip #5: Manicure and pedicure
Giving yourself a manicure and pedicure shows that you do take time to focus on yourself. Also, paint your nails for an instant look that lasts. Try to paint your nails at the end of each week at night to keep the color looking fresh and have a pretty look each week. Manicured hands and feet help you feel and look beautiful every morning.
Just because you're a mother, that doesn't mean that you have to let your beautiful looks go. Being beautiful is a big self- esteem and confidence booster and you should have the same pride in your looks that you have from being the best mother that you can be.
