Ever wanted to play a game of Tetris with an aquarium theme but couldn't find that special game? With FIshdom from Big Fish Games this is basically a possibility although it may not be a puzzle game such as Tetris. Luckily Big Fish Games tends to have a good number of demos available on its website and sell the full games at fair prices.

BIg Fish Games is a developer and publisher that tends to sell independent feeling games to the masses. However, is Fishdom just a hyped up puzzle game or is it something else? Let's take a look at this game by testing out every feature, and focus on whats important about the game such as game play, and even graphics.

♦Graphics♦

Let's be perfectly honest, the graphics for Fishdom leave much to be desired. They tend to be extremely simple graphics with colorful fish and backgrounds. The graphics may impress those who are new to downloadable games or gaming in the first place. At the end of the day the graphics really need to be worked on more before releasing games like this.

♦Sound♦

There isn't much one could say about the sound effects of this game, however it does suffice. Players will be able to hear crisp sound effects with the right sound system and some great little tunes. Not every game can have block buster songs from the billboard charts you know.

♦Game Play♦

Okay, the whole point of this game is to match up three types of fishes. After that is complete the player will earn money which can be used to buy upgrades for the fish tank. As the levels of the game increase it gets harder, and the fun doesn't suffer in the mean time. Sadly the only downside to the game play features is that it has very little replay value.

♦Improvements♦

Is there any way that Big Fish Games could improve Fishdom? Of course there is, they could start by working on the graphics more and trying not to rush games so much. Most of their games tend to look like independent games and they seem to make every game a rehash of the last, and in the gaming world this simply won't do.

Is Fishdom a good game? Sure it is if the player isn't a major gamer. Most people will overlook this game unless they see it on sale at Wal-Mart in the bargain gaming section, and rightfully so they should. It is simply a quick game that could possibly be played by children or the elderly for a quick and fun game.
