X Factor Fourth Live Show October 30th 2010- Halloween Theme

Mary Byrne opened the fourth X Factor live show singing ‘Could it be Magic’.  She wore her traditional dark dress and accompanied this with two red horns to get into the Halloween spirit. She received her usual extended applause with the audience chanting her name. Dannii Minogue said she was a class act while Simon told her he loved her this week. Louis Walsh told her she is the people’s champion.  Dannii’s first act, Aiden Grimshaw then took to the stage singing Michael Jackson’s Thriller.  He definitely made the song his own with a very unique version.  I would criticise Aiden for not interacting with the audience, he could be singing alone in his bedroom.  His performances are too intense for my liking. Cheryl Cole criticised the intensity of his performance and Simon Cowell said his performance was bizarre.

The four girls aka Belle Amie were up next and sung an old Bananarama hit, ‘Venus’.  I loved their outfits and their Halloween styling complete with coffins. Dannii slated their vocals and Cheryl said their performance was confident.  Cheryl Cole’s Rebecca Ferguson then sung ‘Wicked Game’. She really is a class act and deserves a record deal.  Cheryl Cole look mesmerised during her performance.  Louis told Rebecca she has everything while Dannii said she would like to listen to her sing the song over and over again.  Simon re-emphasized by saying she was total utter class and that she reminded him of Leona Lewis.  Cheryl told her she loved her so much and that she was world class.  Treyc then followed Rebecca and performed Relight my Fire.  Her vocals were strong but I did not think her voice suited the song. I did like the staging though.  Louis told her that her performance was brilliant and Dannii praised her energy and singing.  Simon blamed Cheryl for not turning Treyc into a recording artist.

Ladies man Matt Cardle took to the stage next for another world class performance. He sung the Leona Lewis song ‘Bleeding Love’. To be honest I preferred the Leona Lewis version although Matt’s vocal got stronger as he neared the end of the song.  Louis said he wasn’t as excited as he was last week, Cheryl added to this and said Matt seemed defeated. Simon said he liked the fact that it wasn’t a copycat performance.  Wagner
