                  The Fire

 I am in a land that is cold and harsh. A place you would never think I would go
 I remember back on our good times and I think it is why I like it here.
 I remember us hunting, laughing and loving
 But most of all, I remember the forest and the fire.

 It was where we spent our days and nights talking about life and love
 It was the place we told our secrets to each other.

 You promised me to be here forever but cancer took you from me
 I know you would still be here with me if not for that
 Now I am broken and hollow inside because I miss the forest and the fire
 October and November were always our months and now they are so cold
 I know you didn't tell me of your sickness because I would have changed my life
 But you cheated me out of some precious time with you

 You always meant so much to me and that's what I loved about you
 We never had to speak that love because we each understood it.
 Now I sit here all broken inside because I couldn't deal with your death
 I still can't deal with your death
 I can't seem to move on with my life because I am still in the past
 Sitting with you by that fire and sharing stories of life.
