Our Intimate Connection To The World Around Us
For some, it is merely a recognition of an increase in synchronistic events, such as a phone call from someone who was just in your thoughts. Or perhaps you have been searching tirelessly for information on a report you have to write, and as you walk past a shelf in the library you accidentally knock a book to the floor. As you go to pick it up and replace it you notice that it is exactly what you have been looking for. Synchronicity can best be described as the coming together of inner and outer events in a way that cannot be explained by cause and effect and that is meaningful to the observer. These "messages" can be found all around us if we are open to the concept and readily recognize them when they occur.
Or perhaps you are one of the many who have that "ah- ha" moment, when life suddenly begins to make sense. Let's say you are sitting in meditation contemplating the meaning of life and all of it's idiosyncrasies, when suddenly, as if from somewhere deep inside of you, an answer comes to mind and really resonates with you; it just feels right, but you have no real foundation for it. This happens when you move outside of your physical reality and settle in to the spiritual awareness of how life really works.
Then there are those "lucky" souls who live every day of their lives with the awareness that what we perceive as being real is merely what we, as a global community, are creating consciously as well as subconsciously: a term called co-creation. This can be extremely foreign to those still of the mindset that they are helpless to control anything outside of themselves, and very liberating for those who are aware that their thoughts coupled with their emotions that follow are in fact what creates the world that they interact with daily: a term called manifestation, as described in the book "The Secret".
For centuries, or perhaps even millenniums, we have been asleep to the fact that our lives are exactly what we make of them. We were programmed, if not by malice, to believe that our existence is controlled by rules and regulations; from the quantum world to the cosmos. Yet we are not powerless, but powerful in our own right, and we are now waking up to this fact. If we can get out of our minds and in to our hearts we will realize what perfect creatures we truly are.
Regardless of which category you find yourself in now, spiritual awakening promises that we will all become mindful of our intimate connection to the world around us.
