Humor: Raking leaves

There are times when I truly believe I'm Mother Nature's whipping boy........

First, let me make it clear that I love the outdoors, I would prefer to spend more time outdoors if possible. However my career doesn't allow that to happen so I take the time I'm given and try to make it work .   With that being said out of all the things I do love about being outdoors, I have finally had to admit that I have one enemy that is a part of Mother Nature's family .

Trivial I must admit . But it seems that each year these individuals become more relentless and devious in their plans to hamper me from my outdoor enjoyment.   At one time I thought I could hear them laughing at me as I passed by them  to go get the mail.  I learned later  that it was really the next door neighbor . But I still believe they put him up to it and since he is gullible he had no problem participating.   That in itself shows how dispicable they are.....just simple evil.

Have you ever noticed how these guys always run in packs ?  You never catch one or two of these guys.....oh no.  It seems they have a tendency to run in packs of three or four thousand  and never have a sense of decency to stay in one particular location.   And talk about a bunch of free loaders !  They spend half the year basically doing nothing and then the other half  given people like you and me something to do !

Oh sure , I'm sure there is some fun to be found in dealing with these guys but I haven't discovered it yet . And the frustration I feel seems to compell them to increase their membership .  On some days it seems that the entire neighborhod has landed in my front yard to participate in some unannounced block party.   Great fun.

But I do have a unique defense system, actualy I can't take credit for the invention but I do have a shrine built for the creator. Simplistic in design and noisy as hell ( I believe the noise is what scares them sometimes), the combination leaf blower/mulcher is man's greatest creation.  It also helps to pay back that s*#*##  of a neighbor that decided to laugh at me when used on Sunday mornings at around 7am .

In all fairness I have to give these guys credit.  Either by sheer genius or cosmic intervention they only show up on your yard when you have made other outdoor plans.  Forget the theory of leaves only falling off trees during the fall and winter, I have one stubborn tree who determines when the leaves fall  - and seems to take great pride in doing it ONE LEAF AT A TIME.

I would love to stay and continue this.....but I need to go.    I think I just heard them laughing outside again and my combination leaf blower / mulcher is out of service.  This is going to a long day.
