My relationship with God is a personal relationship, as everyone's relationship with God is personal. Someone wisely said "God has no grandchildren" which of course describes that we are all his first-line children needing our own personal relationship with Him. Since He is our Father we are his beloved children - first offspring of His that he bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus.
We most of us have didnt learn as we grew up that God required/desired a personal relationship with us each invididually, unless you were given some very special parents who knew this or maybe a great teacher in your lifetime that wisely instructed you in the concepts and precepts of God. Those of us that didnt have the forerunners in our lives to direct us in such footsteps had to learn these things "on our own" with the guidance of the Holy Spirit teaching us. That very profound truth that God is a personal God and that he desires a personal relationship with His children. He didn't want robots, or puppets but real children with real thoughts and feelings to relationship with. He loves to have a conversation with His children and hear their voice and for that and to be able to do that: you have to have real people with real emotions. Real people with real emotions and God that is what equals a relationship.
A relationship takes time to develop: things such as trust and belief for example and a matrix of various points of interest in the make up and beween the individuals creating a climate and bringing it out to what could be determined "a relationship". Events and experiences and time allowed to be expressed throughout the exposure of the revealing of the persons makes a relationship. God desires relationship with His people. He made up books to tell of his people - such as Ruth, Job, James, Jeremiah, Isaiah, and Esther. He loves to put it in a book what he discovers about his children and He tells His story with them and through them.
So as if you were the only person on the earth, God desires a personal relationship with YOU! He loves to hear your voice, He loves to hear your prayers, your desires, your longings, your dreams, your hopes, your delight in having your prayers answered. He counts you as His treasured possession.
Know this, that your relationship with God is a personal one.
