Anxiety disorders are a relatively common occurance in modern society.  These disorders are ones that create high levels of tension in certain situations.  Sometimes this level of tension can be mild and only be stirred up in the most intense scenarios and for others the tension can be absolutely paralyzing.  For those that are suffering from a disorder it is important to understand what the cause is of the disorder so that treatment can be applied to help lower the anxiety involved in it and potentially cure it altogether.

What is albuminurophobia?

Albuminurophobia is a very strange disorder.  While phobias are considered to be irrational fears of something, albuminurophobia is one that is normally seen to be a little more on the extreme side of irrational.  Albuminurophobia is the fear of kidney disease.  For most that suffer from this disorder it is hard to pinpoint how the disorder was caused.  For some a traumatic event can create the fear.  For those with albuminurophobia it could possibly be related to a family member that had kidney disease or because of information received that could have influenced it either early in life or recently.  Regardless, it is considered to be an irrational fear, especially for someone that has had no history of kidney related issues or no family history of kidney disease.

Symptoms of Albuminurophobia

Symptoms of Albuminurophobia are pretty typical for any anxiety disorder.  Normally someone that experiencing the disorder may experience relative discomfort with sweating, raised heart rate, and heavy breathing when encountering mild situations.  This could be someone simply talking about kidney disease or hearing about it on television.  For those that are having greater symptoms they could include fainting, vomiting, or even a full on panic attack.  Normally removal from the situation causing the problems will slowly remedy the problem.

Treatment of Albuminurophobia

With any anxiety disorder it is a good idea to seek professional guidance.  Normally the method of treatment is going to depend upon the severity of the anxiety and the frequency in which it occurs.  In the case of Albuminurophobia the treatment will most likely be limited to regardless professional visits to determine the root of the problem.  In a phobia where direct contact with the issue is extremely limited simple avoidance is normally the easiest means of controlling it.  In the case of Albuminurophobia it is a matter of staying away from conversation about it and not watching programs that include it.  Since kidney disease is such a limited topic of discussion this task isn't all that difficult.  However, a professional is most likely going to try to resolve the issue.  If it is bad enough they may even use standard anxiety medication in order to take the edge off and give the sufferer a better means of functioning in daily life.
