Once upon a time there were three bears and they lived near a forest. They used to live in the forest but the council sold the land to a developer and they were forced to move. At first daddy bear was really angry and tried to stop the developers from moving in. He organised a protest and many people came to join him, climbing trees, and making life difficult. But as so often happens in these cases, all that happened was that the project was delayed. Eventually the protesters were moved on and the developers began building nice new houses on the site their house used to be. Mummy bear was very upset and cried a lot. She went to her doctor and he prescribed some anti depressants which seemed to help her for a while. Baby bear didn't understand what was going on and this made him very frustrated. He didn't like that his mummy and daddy were so upset but he felt very powerless to do anything about it so he kept his anger to himself. He tried to do the things he had always done. He tried to keep up with his homework, and tried extra hard at school. But his teacher started to notice that he was becoming very withdrawn and when she tried to speak to him about it he was unusually cheeky to her. This wasn't like him and she knew it so she phoned his parents and asked to speak to them. Mummy bear and daddy bear went to the school to see the teacher and they had a chat about things. When she knew the whole story, the teacher was very understanding and decided that she should talk to baby bear and let him know that she was there to help him. So she sat him down and started to speak to him very tenderly about the stresses of being a parent, how modern living meant that woods and green spaces were no longer required, but that mummy and daddy still loved him very much. Baby bear sat very quietly and she wasn't sure he was hearing what she had to say. Her worst fears were confirmed when baby bear said, "Whatever." The teacher knew that she was going to find it tough to get through to him so she spoke to the educational psychologist and the school counsellor. They arranged to see baby bear at home along with mummy bear and daddy bear one day during the holidays. They felt that if they spoke to him at a relaxed time, and in his own environment, they would get through to him better. So, the day came to see the bear family, and mummy bear had prepared a nice tea for them in their fourteenth floor multi storey apartment. As soon as the pair sat down in the cramped
