Poetry: False hope

by Svetlana Cherevik

Created on: October 27, 2010   Last Updated: March 25, 2011

Another year has passed
Like a misty autumn day

My hopes taken by wind gusts

Have all been blown away

This autumn has brought
An unexpected crop
What I had sought
I had to drop

The fruit that I had hoped for

Has not matured yet
I would not anymore
Bewail and regret
And take the fruit
I did not mean to sow

The fruit of pain acute

Which will not stop to grow
