Oh what I would give to see daylight
Oh what I would give to be free
Oh won’t you have pity on my plight
Because I am innocent, don’t you see?
Oh to feel rain falling on my head
That would feel so very good
And to sleep in my very own bed -
Aaaah how I wish that I could
Yes, I do get food and water here
And sometimes people talk to me
But all in all there’s not much cheer
In the great outdoors I’d rather be
My life has not been a story book
Illustrated with pixies and fairies
So if you will just unlatch that hook
I’ll go look for my fellow-canaries.
