Each and every one of us has our very own share of success. From a young age we were coached towards success with a vision in mind that with success comes along happiness and a feeling of glory as a result of an achieved target. No matter how much we wish for, we can’t fight our inner thoughts that whisper to us that our success might not last in a life of reality which is full of obstacles, challenges and worst of all changes. The world is changing along with its inhabitants, hence we should understand that success is also not eternal.
As an example, if we are the last in our class, with a little extra time focused on studies, we might just lift ourselves to a higher ranking. For some it might not be pressure at all as we only have ourselves to prove. Instead, for a top ranking student to maintain his or her success is definitely not easy due to the high expectations and pressure they receive from people around them which contributes to their fear and self-doubt whether they are capable of keeping on to their sweet cup of success. Every examination or competition will turn into battles for them while their negative inner thoughts play games in their mind. No matter how confident a person might seem in the road to success, nobody can deny the uninvited thoughts of failure he or she would have before beginning the journey.
The fear of failure is hard to ignore as we all know, that behind every success there will be failure, however what we fail to find an answer for is how many failures are there before success is achieved? Thomas Edison went through hundreds of failures before he gave us light in the dark. His success lasted till today, yet how many of today’s generation can debate with their own self-doubt and fear for a hundred times over?
When the level of self-doubt and fear overpasses a limitation mark in a person’s mind, the person will eventually lack confidence in his or her capabilities to strive. Even the most ambitious people will start questioning their motives in life until the aspect of questioning themselves fruits the negative thoughts unknowingly to them. The mind will readily tell them that they are not prepared to chart their own journey towards the path of success and with that, their success is sabotaged by their own self-doubt and fear.
