Halloween isn't just for the kiddies anymore, it has become a well anticipated event for even the adults this day and age. Everyone loves to get all dressed up in their freaky, creepy or sexy costumes and congregate at a friends home for the party of year. But what exactly does one do at Halloween parties? Do they just hang out in their costumes and chit chat amongst themselves? Do they have costume contests? Or do they have games and activities for everyone to do?
Well, if it is a well thought out and planned party, there should be activities and games for everyone to play. Depending on the type of party you are throwing, there are many types of activities you can do. For example, if this is a party where alcohol will be available, you will want to take certain precautions before playing any games or activities.
First of all, ensure that everyone that will be drinking will not be driving home. There should be a designated key master at your party, a key master is someone that collects every ones keys and will not be drinking at the party. It is their responsibility to ensure that everyone gets home safe and sound. Once that has been taken care of it is time to for you and your friends to enjoy the party with a few drinking games. Here is one to get you started.
A popular game is the "Circle of Death". In this game you take a deck of cards shuffled, spread them face down on a table. In the middle of the table you will need to place an empty pitcher. You essentially take turns drawing until the last king is drawn, but with a twist. Each card has a different outcome. Cards 1-6 you take a drink, if its a 7 then all of the ladies drink, if its an 8 then all of the guys take a drink, if it is a 9 then you must start with a word and each person must choose a word that rhymes with it(who ever repeats a word or stalls must drink), if it is a 10 then the person to your left must drink, if it is a jack then the person to the right of you must drink, a queen then you make a category and start with the letter a through z anyone that messes up must drink, the first 3 kings pulled the person pulling it can pour as much of their beer or alcohol drink into the pitcher as they would like. Who ever draws the last king must drink whatever is in the pitcher. This is a fun game to play at any party, just be sure those that are playing have a ride home or can stay with you.
For parties that will not have alcohol available, a fun game to play is a game called "who am I?". For this game you will need a roll of either name tags or a tape that you can write on. A fun twist to the game would be to use famous people that have passed away, thus sticking to the Halloween night of the dead theme. On the name tags or tape you will write down the names of famous people that have died, these will be placed on your guests backs when they arrive not allowing them to know which person they are. Throughout the night each person will have to ask questions to determine who they might be, such as am I a man or woman or am I an actor or actress. By asking these questions through out the night your guest can determine who they might be. Before the party ends all guests should take a guess as to who they are, prizes should be awarded to those who get theirs correct.
Whatever the game or activity it is imperative to ensure that your guest is always safe, whether it be a drinking game to simple but yet fun activities. Provided all precautions are taken, your Halloween party should be the event of the season and one that everyone will talk about for months.
