Google Adsense is now a friend of mine, yet just four years ago I couldn't even copy and paste or send an email.  Now I'm writing online, have a few of  my own websites and blogs, and am earning some passive income through Google Adsense.

I am not yet earning a lot from Google Adsense, but I'm proud of how far I've come.

Making money from Google Adsense and online writing is not the only way I make money from home.  I’m hoping to find the time to put more effort into online writing so that I can create a larger monthly passive income. 

I do not have money stashed away to pay for monthly living expenses while I dedicate more time to online writing.  I wish I did, or that I was still fresh out of school and that my parents were willing to support me for a year or so while I worked on the project of making money writing online.

I’m not fresh out of school.  I’m in my forties.  I left my now ex-husband a little over three years ago, and moved to my parents’ house with my two sons.

My sons and I, and my boyfriend, are still living in the same house as my parents.

I had not worked while I was married, and needed to find something I could do from home.  It had been too long since I was last working to have the necessary amount of experience or qualifications to quickly find a job that would pay me enough to live on.  I also spend time supporting my children with their school activities and didn’t want to give that up, and also have to worry about their care during school holidays, not to mention having to buy some more appropriate clothes and shoes for a working environment, and transport costs to work and back.  I didn’t have a car, and actually still don’t.  I use my father’s car.

My boyfriend and I got together about 2 months after I had left my now ex-husband, and he joined the household about another two months after that.  He also needed to find work, and applied for over 100 jobs with no luck.  He often made the shortlist for second interviews, but lost the job, usually to somebody younger.

We were getting desperate and needed to do something.

I didn't know much about the Internet at all, and I was barely computer literate.  I even had trouble telling the difference between files and folders.

Before moving to my town, my boyfriend had taught himself how to handcode html to design static websites.  He had designed a site to market some
