The Best Social Sites

(A Matter of Taste)

Social sites are popping up everywhere it seems and be sure to be on the lookout for many more to come. The leaders of course are Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, although Twitter is not a true social site in that sense of the word or phrase. It's a mini blogger site.

Another large site is Yuwie which boasts a million plus members. This used to be a very good social site but due to it's owner, drama has reigned full blown here and has hurt many members, the pop ups are just too annoying and the many site problems are just that, too many. Many have left and moved on as their membership is dwindling due to the many problems.

All of the above have millions of members and it's getting to the point where automation is everywhere. Because of this factor the personal touch is gone. Hackers love to bite into these big social sites as the impact is much greater for their abusive behavior and if you are not protected, get some right away.

Some of the smaller social clubs still do offer that personal touch such as Swom and many of the Ning sites. Ning allows you to to create your own personal social site for a very reasonable cost per year. One has pooped up out of British Columbia, Canada called "All Artists Galactic Social Club". It's the only site that actually allows spam. They have their own prayer chapel which is rare too. It's a very different kind of club to say the least.

Many of the sites such as Ning and Swom are all connected to the big sites in some way or another. In view of this, it makes it easier to start your own Ning site or other as you can connect directly and blog your articles, video's, pictures, draw members and such.

The above mentioned social sites are all free to join. Many others are as well but some encourage you to upgrade at a cost to receive better status which may allow you access into areas that are normally forbidden to the free members. To me, this is really not a social site.

Many sites pop up under the guise of social sites. Beware as many are self serving and are only after your money or your private information to be sold or used for their own purposes.

Many traffic and banner sites have redefined themselves and evolved into the social aspect to help draw and retain membership.

As far as the best of social sites, all have their own niche for what they are all about and the term "best" is relative to each individual taste.
