First of all, we need to define what inner healing means. Inner healing is the immenent power we all have to heal ourselves without outside help. We are impacted by outside forces all day long. It is how we choose to work with these forces that determines how we feel.
This brings us to alternative methods of healing. The Western world is very focused on the credo “Better healing through chemistry.” The Eastern world’s credo seems to be “Better healing through listening to our bodies because our bodies have the power to heal themselves.”
We will focus on the version of healing that we ourselves can use to impact our own body and where we do not necessarily need somebody else to work on us. Modern discoveries and ancient schools of medicine brought interesting ways of healing to us.
Several of these schools and discoveries point to negative trapped emotions that impact our entire body and mind. It is said that these emotions contribute to our physical being, meaning if you feel pain somewhere in your body you are most likely also experiencing a negative emotion that is trapped within your body and contributing to your physical pain.
Here an example: I once was afraid to lose my job. This fear caused my focus to go to everything I could not control and stress out. This fear caused an intense tension in my shoulders and neck, a chronic fatique syndrome and overweight. I used believe only in Western medicine until it failed me completely. Since I had no other choice, I turned to alternative medicine and therapies. By accident, I came across the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) developed by Gary Craig. This technique is based on the Chinese medicine of acupuncture and acupressure. Acupuncture itself did not work on releasing the stress and tension. EFT, however, took care of it within 10 minutes doing it myself. The tension together with the fear was gone, the stress was released, the extra weight released slowly and easily. My entire composure changed as well. There is a free manual on the developer’s website www.emofree.com. It can be used to release any kind of negative emotion such as fear, anger, frustration, betrayal, etc.
There are many other techniques that you can use such as the Emotion Code, Neurolinguistic Programming, Neuroassociative Conditioning (NLP), and more. Another technique that comes from NLP is called the TRIAD which consists of changing your physiology (Move your body!), changing your focus (What else can this mean so I feel great?) and changing your language (What other words you can use to describe your life in happy terms?).
Another technique that is recommendable is using brainwave CDs that put your brainwaves by listening to the CDs into certain frequencies that can activate your self-healing powers. Try out the “Healing System”.
My challenge to you: Make an inventory of your negative emotions and the situations in your life you want to change. Then look into any of the mentioned techniques and try out releasing them and creating inner peace by healing yourself.
