I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV. But it is entirely possible that Britney, among all her other problems, is actually suffering from postpartum depression, either medically or psychologically, or both.
All within a couple of years, she got drunk, had a quickie marriage and an hours-later annulment in Las Vegas. Shortly thereafter, against all advice and simple logic, married a sleazy guy from a back-up dance troup who already had two kids from another relationship. Then, within little more than a year, she had two babies.
Meanwhile, her husband had almost immediately started wandering publicly from the marriage bed, while the fan mag media went wild following both of them around. The mixed-up couple even had a TV reality show, which quickly and mercifully was cancelled.
Britney couldn't leave the house without being followed by hordes of papparazi and star-struck fans. The troubled pop star was also seen at parties and clubs, and exposing herself in photos that questioned her abilities as a mother as well as her mental health. In desperation, she checked herself in and out of rehab several times.
With all that, is it any wonder that her behavior has become more and more bizarre? If there is such an ailment as papparazi post partum oppression (as well as depression), Britney certainly has a bad dose of it.
