THE CYCLE OF LIFE
Mere mortals are unable to comprehend
What miners view as they slowly descend
Into those deep, dark satanic halls
Sad stories of men inscribed in the walls.
With exhaustion on the tip of every tongue
No word is spoken to correct each wrong
For the owners hold the casting vote
As vast profits you doth hear them quote.
The trucks are filled without question
The need for food requires discretion
As careless words lead to starvation
In this poor and impoverished nation.
As the miner shivers in his cold house
Holding close his faithful spouse
His life being constantly under threat
With the pick and shovel is only asset.
