There are several reasons why one may want to leave their current job and before you take action you should know the reason and have done some due diligence in finding an alternative job so that you don't risk being unemployed for a potentially long period of time if you quit or give your two weeks notice.
Some reasons you may want to leave your job may include:
Pay Too Low
Many people have to earn a certain amount just to be able to break even in day to day life, money and pay being too low is one of the top reasons people leave their current jobs and search for another job which may pay more. Before you consider leaving your current job just because the payment is low you should reflect and see if you are making enough to make ends meet, if not then you should consider looking for another job but not quitting until you interview and get hired for one. If you are making enough to make ends meet, then be more cautious in looking for more work, if you enjoy your job and only want to leave because the pay is low you may end up being unhappy just for the sake of some extra money.
Hostile Work Environment
You may have a manager that you don't get along with or coworkers who are less than friendly, if it becomes a problem this can hurt your work morale and make you want to leave your job. Who wants to work with someone who makes them feel uncomfortable or treat them with respect? If this is a reason why you are considering leaving your job, you should look to Human Resources or an escalation to see if the problem can be resolved first, only if you can't have a problem resolved to your satisfaction should you look for alternative employment.
Not Happy With Current Job
Many people work just because they need the money and do whatever job comes their way. This leads to many people working at jobs that don't bring them happiness, they don't enjoy the work and they eventually get bored or frustrated to the point where they stop caring about their job. It is always important to find and work at a place where you enjoy doing the work you do, a happy worker is more productive and if you find yourself unhappy doing the work at your current job and want to change career or fields then make sure you take the necessary training or education courses and then apply for positions before just up and quitting your current job.
Medical Conditions
