Scientology is spread mainly by people trying it and finding that it works and they pass it on to others. It is not much more than that.

As a director of a Scientology church I can tell you categorically that the best means of getting Scientology into the hands of someone else is to have a person who has had it successfuly help to them in life to recommend it to others they know it can help.

There are books and pamphlets that can be used, but really, the way it works best is for other people to recommend it. After the recommendation the next best thing is that someone stay at home and read a book on the subject. Scientology is a philosophy and needs to be read.

It pleases me no end when someone comes in and says, they read this book, and it is fantastic, where can they get some more? I also like it when people just walk in and ask what is it all about, but I really just suggest a book be read. If they are up to it they will get the concept pretty well from a book.

You see, Scientology does work. It does enable a person to handle life's problems better. It is a study about life and knowledge. People generally find it works. But they really need time to sit down and read, contemplate it all in their own time. People do not respond to too much pressure. They respond to a bit of pressure, but mostly it is reason they respond to.

Of course the organization, the Church, also needs to give good service and deliver its courses well and make sure its counselling is spot-on. Otherwise people will say the books are great and help, but the next steps are a con. So good counselling and courses is a priority.

I suppose I am simply telling this in such a simple way it looks too easy. It is.

There are other ways to get known, and I include advertizements on the internet, fliers in the street and letterboxes, but these are nothing compared to someone who finds it works and then says so to another.

Here is a real example recently. A freind's wife has her father dieing. The wife is down and depressed, and lost all vigoiur in life. She is recommended to have councelling here. She has no idea what to expect but I simply do the standard actions called for in the book, Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health. After five hoursof this her life turns around and she is enthusiastic, feeling good with herself. She then finds another freind in a similar situation, loans her a book, then brings her in, and so it goes on.

I hope this shows how simple Scientology expansion is.
