You can set up your bill for Auto Pay with a Bank Account, Debit Card, or Credit Card. By using Auto Pay, you can pay your Verizon Bill automatically. Each month your payment will be automatically debited from your bank account or charged to your card.
The benefits of using Auto Pay are that you will never have postage charges or late fees. You will also stop receiving the paper versions of your bill and they will be sent to your email address instead, if you so choose.
To set yourself up to utilize Auto Pay the first thing you must do is register, or activate, your account at www.verizon.com, if you have not done so already.
After you have registered, there is a link in the middle of the page (in large, bold print so you won’t miss it either) that says “I Want To Set Up Auto Pay”. After selecting this link you will be asked to select your Auto Pay payment method, which are either Checking Account or Credit/Debit Card.
If you select to pay by Credit/Debit Card you will be asked for all of the normal required material. You must enter your card type, card number, expiration date, your zip code, and of course your card security code (which for those of you who don’t know is the three digit number on the back of your card).
If you select to pay by using your Checking Account you will first be asked to give an Account Nickname. Then you must enter your nine-digit bank routing number. These are the numbers on the furthest bottom left hand side of your checks. The next step is inputting your bank account number, which is the series of numbers to the right of the routing number. The last selection on setting up Auto Pay with your checking account is choosing with day you would prefer them to withdraw the money from your account, or simply put, which day you would like to make your payment. This portion of the site does an excellent job of giving you step-by-step instructions throughout the process. If you do not have an Internet connection, then you can also call Verizon and set up Auto Pay by phone.
As many people have found out in current days is how convenient using Auto Pay can be. The Internet has revolutionized, and made paying your bills much easier. You will at least save the price of a stamp every month, and if you are conscious of the environment, you will be assisting the planet in going green by not receiving paper bills anymore.
