What is there to say about, Yardley, Pennsylvania? Everything and nothing. That's why this area is such a personal bragging right; it's a good trade off between busy and relaxed. There's always something to do, if you find yourself wanting to go out. However, if a homebody is what you're looking to play, the area is quiet and personal enough that it hits the spot.
I used to be under the impression that this place was mundane, lame and a pain. Truly, I was ignorant towards what this area had to offer; either that or I was just too young to appreciate it. Whatever it was, I found myself becoming more partial towards this area which, has now blossomed into a love story.
It all started with my schooling in New York, New York. The city life was bustling and interesting to the outsider, with all the trendy restaurants and clubs. People seemed to know where they wanted to go, how they would get there and always had the money to pay for it. However, actually living in this city was much, much different. Yes, I was ignorant and this city situation could have not made itself more obvious. But, really, I know I was not the first monetarily-lacking, college student with high hopes, who became incredibly disappointed in the grim, dirty, crowded city life.
Needless to say, coming back to this area was a therapeutic session without the cost. Although an aspect distinct to just this area, the season's changing was the first breath of fresh air I needed to recuperate. Also, the location is amazing with a vast array of entertainment in a car ride. All under an hour away, is the beach and boardwalks at both Seaside Heights and Atlantic City in New Jersey. Atlantic City is also great for those gamblers with its multiple Casinos. For a more metropolitan experience, Philadelphia is approximately a half hour away. And if none of these are suited to your taste, a quiet escape in Lancaster or Valley Forge is always doable or, my favorite, a relaxed walk through Historic Newtown or New Hope. These towns have the quaintest shops and the restaurants are fantastic. And all this can be ended with a show at the Bucks County Playhouse or a movie at the Newtown Theater.
There are malls, nature parks, Theaters and historic landmarks all within the area. A quick Internet search is all that is needed to find what options are open. With all these so close by, it's hard not to find something to do.
However, the aspect I'm finding more and more appealing, is the striking display by nature. Regardless of all that surrounds Yardley, from this area up to New Hope and beyond, nature rules. And with fall fast approaching, it can gladly have its reign.
