Outside clotheslines are one way to dry your clothing, and can be purchased or built with simple materials. There are many styles of outdoor clotheslines, so be sure to research them in stores near you, before you purchase or build one. You can also simply tie clothes line rope between two or more sturdy trees. Hooks can also be installed onto the side of a house or shed, where clothes lines can be tied and attached to another hook, tree, or other building. In winter weather, dry clothing outside when there is a strong wind or sunshine in the forecast. If you do not have a clothesline, there are more suggestions on drying your clothes.
Portable drying racks are sold in numerous laundry supply aisles of department stores, hardware stores and specialty stores. There are also several on-line stores that sell them. A variety of styles and sizes are available, including a plastic coated or vinyl coated drying racks, which protects wood from mold and mildew. These types of racks fold flat and can be stored on hanging hooks, behind large furniture or underneath beds. Set up drying racks inside or outside to dry your clothing and other laundry items. Larger folding laundry racks, also portable, can be used to dry clothes that are on clothes hangers. In cooler seasons, place drying racks in rooms where heat sources produce the most heat. Use caution as to how close you place your racks to your heat sources. Simply having them in the warmest room will help your clothing dry quicker.
Indoor portable, and retractable, clotheslines are inexpensive and dry lighter weight clothing and laundry items well. These are available in numerous styles, sizes, and vary on the amount of lines and length they have. These can be installed inside utility rooms or other rooms, used to dry laundry, and then be removed and used elsewhere, such as the side of a camper.
