Finally, March is here and with that let the office pools, Cinderella stories, and fan craziness begin. Like no other event in the world, March Madness offers basketball fans the chance to see some of the most memorable high-paced action in the world. There are three factors that make this time of year mind-boggling.

The upsets: The most thrilling action in sports takes place during the NCAA Tournament. Watching #15 seed Richmond University knock of #2 Syracuse. Bryce Drew hitting his miracle shot against Ole Miss. Kent State and Marquette making magical runs to the elite eight in 2002 and 2003, and one of the greatest Cinderella stories ever, the George Mason Patriots knocking off UNC, Connecticut, etc. en route to a final four. These stories keep the hearts of fans nationwide pumping.

The system: 65 teams. Fans from many schools across the country a granted a blessing when their team qualifies for the NCAA Tournament. The thrill of hearing your team's name called is unbelievable, and even if that team loses in the first round, for those 40 minutes your team is in the nation's spotlight. For the 65 teams that qualify the dream is always alive until the clock strikes zero.

The polls: Office polls keep everyone involved and in love with March Madness. Super-fans slave over their brackets with more detail than they do when buying a new car. Brackets are inevitably the most surreal part of this time, because no matter how much you know the game, the poll winner is always the person in the corner who has never watched a game. Judging on color of uniforms at the coolest names, somehow some way they manage to nail every upset and run away with the entire thing.

So start scouting, get the popcorn ready, and be prepared for Sally the Secretary to run-away with your poll, because March Madness is finally here. Bring on the excitement!
