HOW TO LIVE THE GOOD LIFE
We are consistently being barraged with all manner of advice on how to live a good, healthy and happy life. A lot of the information centers on our physical well-being, what to eat, ways to best exercise, don’t smoke, don’t drink, see your doctor and your dentist for regular check-ups, take happy pills, don’t take happy pills, take food supplements, don’t take food supplements, avoid fast food stores, don’t eat it. There is nothing wrong with fast food; meet me at, well whatever your favorite fast food store may be. It is all good advice to a degree but it is only half truth; it doesn’t go far enough. It barely scratches the surface and 70% of it is spin. It is advertising propaganda. It is meant to hook you into believing and buying the product or the program or both. The next highest on the scale of spin is our social well-being. How to be rich and famous without trying; how to start at the top. You know what I’m talking about. There is only one place, one position or station in life where we start at the top and that is digging a hole and we have been digging ourselves into one for a very long time. Think about it. Take a good look around you. Look inside your own heart and mind and see what you find. You may be very surprised.
“Don’t believe everything you hear and only believe half of what you see; and for goodness sake don’t repeat it as the truth.” Someone said that once and it is good advice but I’ll be danged if I can remember who said it at this moment. Between the tongue and the pen great nations have been crushed into nothingness. Be careful of what you hear, say and do. Don’t be too quick to judge others or yourself. Learn to really think and weigh the evidence before you jump to conclusions. Don’t be so gullible and accept everything that you are told or even shown to be true, not even from your doctor, your lawyer, your preacher, your teacher, even your boss or me and especially not from a politician. I’ve lived almost 70 years now and have seen a lot of changes in what truth is. The facts, which in actuality are just theory, keep changing but there are certain truths that are self-evident and those are what you can truly trust and believe in.
God is. The sun is going to rise and
