Product reviews: Clarins Eau Dynamisante

Created on: October 20, 2010

Clarins products are luxurious and expensive but I was lucky enough to receive this fragrance as a gift with  other samples.
Made with plant extracts, this is a really pleasant and re-vitalising product. Clarins state that it vitalises, and tones the skin whilst leaving it lightly scented, soft and moisturised. Something that ordinary fragrances don’t achieve, so this is unique. Other unusual fact is that it can be used by both men and women, the fragrance isn’t overpowering, and one I am happy to wear during the day and know it won’t offend other people, how I hated colleagues wearing strong perfumes some of which could cause a migraine !

My bottle is small but perfectly formed, just 30mls, usually it would be a 100mls size bottle. The bottle is deep red , but you can see through it and see how much fragrance is left, the top is white plastic with a gold trim and Clarins name is on the top of the capin raised letters.  The only other difference is my bottle isn’t a spray like the larger bottles but is a splash on bottle.
Clarins being a French company on the front of the bottle it says  Fraîcheur, fermeté and vitalité.

Normally I would splash on the fragrance on my wrists and neck and near my ears, points that benefit from the fragrance. It is quite strong to begin with but after a few minutes settles down and the fragrance changes. Splash it on after a shower when your pores are open can give  a better result I find.
I have used this on my forehead if I’ve had a headache before taking paracetamol in the hopes it will re-vitalise me, and sometimes it works !

The fragrance is one I find hard to describe, it contains Lemon, Ginseng, Rosemary, Orange, Caraway, Thyme and Patchouli. So fresh fruity citrus scents with herbs, sounds like the stuffing for the Christmas turkey ! I splash it on and rub it in a little something I wouldn’t normally do with perfume, but it is absorbed or evaporates really quickly leaving my skin soft and smelling delicious. I confess when I wear this I keep sniffing my wrist and can still smell the fragrance several hours later.

This is one product that can be safely worn in the sun as it has a photosensitising formula.
Cost – well mine was in a gift collection, but it can be as much as £32 for a 100ml bottle although if you search the internet it can be as low as £20.49! Overall I would recommend this for someone wanting  a light perfume, that has added benefits and likes natural products.
