The Three Kittens and the Lion
Once there were three kittens, a black one named Whiskers, a brown stripy one named Tiger and a white one named Molly. One day they decided that they were bored. They were sat in the garden and although the sun was shining and the birds were singing they couldn't think of a thing to do.
"I'm so bored!" Tiger whined, flicking his tail with annoyance and accidentally hitting his sister over the head with it.
"Well don't take it out on me!" she whined back, pouncing on him and batting his striped ear with her paws.
"Stop it! I'm trying to think of something we can do!" Whiskers snapped, glaring as his brother and sister stared at him with their big lue eyes.
"Shhh Molly, Bossy Britches is trying to think!" Tiger giggled, which set Molly off and soon they were both rolling in the grass laughing their tails off. Whiskers shook his head and suddenly sat straight up, his tail pointed in the air.
"I have an idea!" he exclaimed, grinning excitedly while his brother and sister stared at him doubtfully. "We should explore the jungle!" he finished, Whiskers nodded his head eagerly in agreement while Molly didn't look so sure.
"I don't know if we should do that. Mummy always told us not to. She said it was dangerous." she said, drawing herself up so she could look down her nose at her brothers.
"What does Mummy know? I think it's a great idea." Tiger said triumphantly and followed Whiskers as he headed to the small hole in the fence that separated the garden from the boundaries of the jungle.
"Are you coming sis? Or are you too chicken?" Tiger laughed back to Molly as he looked over his shoulder.
"I am not chicken!" Molly hissed back, sticking her tongue out him and following him, "And to prove it, I'm coming with you!" she told him, batting his tail with her paw as they squeezed through the fence.
The kittens had never been into the jungle before and had never seen the tall trees, the big bushes and the pretty flowers. They also didn't know that it was very big and soon they were quite lost. As the sun began to set and the jungle slowly began to get darker the kittens got more and more frightened.
"I wish we had just stayed at home!" Molly cried, sitting on the ground and curling up in a ball, Whiskers nudged gently with his nose to try to make her get back up.
"Come on Molly, everything will be OK, I'm sure home is this way." he told her, Tiger sat beside her and copied Whiskers.
"But I'm cold and I'm hungry and tired! I just want to
