Productivity tips for bloggers

Independent bloggers often find their time is crunched. Often there don't seem to be enough hours in the day. It doesn't have to be this way. With a few minor adjustments bloggers can boost productivity and maintain their blogs with minimal effort. Here are some tips for boosting that productivity.

Set yourself on a schedule

Plan to get up and go through a daily routine. Routine often makes a day go smoother and this is no different for a blogger. Whether you blog first thing each day or all day long you can take advantage of scheduling yourself. Take some time for you and make some time for writing and posting to your blogs. This will help to boost your productivity on a daily basis. This is your job so give yourself set hours until it becomes routine.

Interact with your readers

If someone is reading your blog they are seeking information or just curious. When they make comments be sure to thank them and acknowledge them. Polite bloggers keep visitors coming back.

Occasionally you could put out a request for anyone with more information to contact you or even go so far as to open yourself up to a few guest bloggers. Guest bloggers can often open up a whole new avenue for you and in exchange for a small blurb on their blog with you putting a small blurb on your blog for them you can often get some great content.

Delete negativity

Delete comments that are argumentative or derogatory to you and your blog. Don't worry about hurting someone's feelings, they hurt yours. You don't want to have those comments showing on your blog.

Do a series

Set up sets of posts such as part I and part II or even 3 or more parts to a posting. This breaks up longer postings and keeps readers coming back for more. Take advantage of natural sounding breaks in a post and break them there for continuity in your blog.

Add some pictures

Pictures often draw the reader to your blog and if someone is perusing a social network and spots a clever picture often they'll stop to read the blog. Even if it's not something they would've normally read. A picture is worth a thousand words so take advantage of it.

If you're on a roll take advantage and set up a series or weeks' worth of blog postings ahead of schedule. You can go as far ahead as you wish. The more you write the more visitors you have. Give them some great content and they'll keep coming back for more.

Make sure to comment on other blogs as well and when you leave your signature mention your blog as well. You can even offer to mention other blogs on your site in exchange for the same.

Whether you blog part time or full time remember that setting goals and following a routine will increase your readership and increase your income. Enjoy
